Lupine in the forest por Umer Javed

Zoom in for greater detail! Hallormsstaðaskógur, the largest national forest in Iceland. This is near the southern end of it. Just by river Klifá. I didn't originally know that this species of lupine was alien to Iceland but spread ferociously after it was introduced; it's now almost an expected sight in these areas. I stopped here while driving to Snæfell as it was almost the ending time of the midday dhuhr (ظهر) prayer and I didn't want to miss it. Praising God while being in the midst of some of his most magnificent creation enriches one's worship; basically the concept called khushu (خشوع). I'm very glad I was able to stop here. This area is gorgeous. Living in Canada, forests are not new to me and so I hadn't put this place on my itinerary, but being there almost made me regret. This is a vast forest with good hikes.
